From the Preacher’s Pen...
We all need encouragement to keep on going. I thought maybe this anonymous poem might help us.
When things go wrong, as they sometime will, When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill, When the funds are low, and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is weird with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about, When he might have won had he stuck it out, Don’t give up though the pace seems slow, You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out, The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far. So stick in the light when you’re hardest hit, It’s when things seem worse, That you must not quit.
You might also think on Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 4:7,8. “ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.” And in Philippians 3:14 he wrote, “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
See you when the saints meet, Lord willing.
Love, Tony
